Becky Gilmour is a talented fibre artist with 13 years of experience in the fashion industry, whose creative journey has taken her from the bustling streets of Manchester and New York to her current home in Hong Kong. As the founder of her own studio, she specialises in captivating textile installations that blend her fashion expertise with a profound appreciation for craftsmanship. In 2017, Becky established Make and Do HK, a nurturing space where creative minds gather to explore the artistry of fibre arts. Her work reflects a deliberate, unhurried pace, inviting viewers to engage in deeper awareness and contemplation. With meticulous attention to detail in every stitch and knot, Becky revitalises diverse materials, transforming them into evocative pieces that resonate with vitality and depth. Drawing on her fashion design background, she infuses her art with a unique perspective, creating works that are both innovative and deeply personal.

Lucy Gilmour is an innovative artist originally hailing from the picturesque countryside of Northern England. With a passion for embroidery that led her to study the subject at university in Manchester, Lucy has cultivated a unique artistic style that merges traditional techniques with contemporary design.
In pursuit of new experiences and opportunities, Lucy moved to Hong Kong, where she spent eight transformative years as a product designer and developer. During this time, she collaborated closely with her sister at her company, Make and Do, where they explored the intersections of creativity and community. As of January 2025, Lucy has joined the company full-time, bringing her extensive knowledge and experience to the forefront.
Lucy's work is characterized by her keen eye for detail and her ability to highlight the beauty in the everyday. Through her embroidery and product design, she celebrates the intricacies of the world around us, inviting viewers to appreciate the finer details that often go unnoticed. With each piece, Lucy aims to inspire a sense of wonder and to showcase the elegance embedded in the ordinary.

The artist, better known for her embroidery, is now venturing into painting a panel that replicates the look of a cross stitch.
